I’m a creative designer in the North East of England, and I’ve been turning briefs into brands, posters and print since 2005. That’s over twenty years of kerning, colour-matching and politely asking whether the logo really needs to be bigger.
In that time I’ve designed for theatres, schools, councils, cafés, kitchens, accountants, offshore engineers and at least one 1960s tribute band. The common thread: work that looks the part, says the right thing and turns up when it’s meant to. Print-ready, on brand and free of drama (unless it’s a theatre poster, in which case maximum drama).
You deal with the person doing the work, from the first scribble on a napkin to the final signed-off proof. No account managers, no hand-offs, no “I’ll check with the design team”. I am the design team.
These days that also means websites that do more of the work and monthly content that keeps businesses visible, so clients can come to one person for the lot. I also make a very respectable coffee.
